Starla Teddergreen

Starla Teddergreen is a professional cyclist living in Colorado. After a fifteen-year professional career on the road, she transitioned to gravel and mountain bike racing in 2021, competing independently under the Distance To Empty banner.

In 2022, amidst her racing pursuits, Starla was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This unexpected challenge transformed her racing journey into a battle for survival and recovery. Despite the ongoing impact of MS, she continues to embody the DTE ethos—turning adversity into opportunity and setbacks into triumphs.

Her return to racing was marked by a victory in her first post-recovery event, a belt-buckle finish at the grueling Leadville 100, and participation in the 2023 LifeTime Grand Prix. In 2024, she took on some of the most challenging races in the world, including the Absa Cape Epic, The Rift, and a return to the Breck Epic, where she helped bring 60 pro women to the start line despite battling MS symptoms that nearly forced her to withdraw.

A significant milestone in her career came in 2024 when she was selected to race for Team USA at the MTB Marathon World Championships. This fulfilled a lifelong dream of representing her country on the world stage.

As the 2025 season begins, Starla continues to push forward, racing at the highest level while advocating for more women in the sport. Her journey remains a powerful testament to perseverance, proving that resilience, determination, and passion can overcome even the most challenging obstacles.
